Terms of Use.
Last updated 20 October 2026.
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are an agreement between you and Tomas Nguyen, a private individual in Slovakia who runs Cruxd ("we"). Cruxd is free and is not offered as a business. By creating an account or using Cruxd you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
You must be 16 or older
Cruxd is for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger, do not create an account.
Your account
One account per person. Use your real name or a name that does not pretend to be someone else, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what is posted from it.
Your content stays yours
You own what you post: sessions, notes, comments, photos and clips. You give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, resize, convert and show it, only to run Cruxd and to show it to other users as the app describes. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for posts you wrote for a gym, which stay with that gym, and for copies in backups until they expire.
Post only what you have the right to post. If a photo or clip shows other people, make sure they are happy to be in it.
Zero tolerance for abuse
There is no place on Cruxd for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post, or use Cruxd to:
- harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
- attack people for who they are, including hate speech;
- post sexual content, nudity, or graphic violence;
- post anything illegal, or encourage anyone to break the law;
- share someone's private information, or film or photograph people who do not want to be;
- pretend to be another person or a gym;
- spam, advertise, or post the same thing again and again;
- break into other accounts, get around a block, collect other users' data, or overload or attack the service.
Reports, blocking and removal
You can report a session, comment, profile or gym post from its ⋯ menu, and block a person from their profile. A block hides each of you from the other. Reports come to us, and we review them within 24 hours. Reports from established accounts can hide content automatically until we have looked at it.
We remove content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or close the accounts behind it, without warning when we need to act quickly. Unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, we will tell you what we removed and why. If you think we got it wrong, write to support@cruxdhq.com and we will look again.
Gym mode
Gym mode lets the people who run a gym keep its walls, boulders and news up to date. If you use it for a gym, you confirm that the gym has allowed you to act for it, and that you have the right to post what you post as the gym: floor plans, logos, photos and text.
Gym staff can see who climbed their boulders and how often their followers climb there. Use it only to run the gym on Cruxd. Do not copy it out of Cruxd, use it to contact or advertise to climbers elsewhere, or share it with anyone. We may remove gym access if it is misused.
A post you write for a gym belongs to the gym's page and stays there, without your name, if you leave the gym or delete your account. A demo gym is for trying gym mode, and is deleted with your account.
Climbing is dangerous
Cruxd is a logbook, not safety advice. Grades, maps and boulder details come from gyms and climbers and can be wrong or out of date. Follow your gym's rules, and climb within your limits and at your own risk.
The service
Cruxd is provided free and as it is, without promises that it will always be available, error-free or suit your purpose, as far as the law allows. We may change, pause or end features or the whole service. If we end the service, we will tell you in advance where we can, so you can export your data.
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and if the change matters we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
Liability
Because Cruxd is a free service run by one person, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or loss caused by other users or by things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Ending
You can stop using Cruxd and delete your account at any time in System settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
If you got Cruxd from the App Store
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Cruxd or its content, and has no duty to maintain or support it. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it and these terms differ on the use of the app, these terms add to it.
Law
These terms are governed by Slovak law, and disputes go to the courts of Slovakia. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country's mandatory law and can bring a claim in your own courts.
